Western Caribbean Cruise

Well today was another day at sea. Rob got up and worked out then he and I met the others for lunch. After lunch, I went to
a lecture called “Columbus, Cook, Compass, Clocks and Conquest”, given by a guest lecturer, Dr.  Ted Pohlman. It was very interesting and discussed the search for a method to accurately fix your longitude and the effects the lack of a method had on exploration.

Rob and I met Tom in the Persian Gardens for our usual 5:00 steam then out to the Thassolotherapy pool for some wave and bubble action.

Tonight was our second formal evening. Dinner as usual was exceptional. By this time all the staff has memorized our usual requests so they make sure we get them before we ask. For instance, Rob gets diet sprite and I get a diet coke delivered to our table every evening just after we sit. The Constellation staff are working really hard to maintain the Conde Naste number one rating they got last year and it shows. The attention to detail is amazing. It seems they are constantly going out of their way to ensure we all have a great time.

After the dinner and the show, we went to the Pied Piper Party on the fantail. I stopped off for about twenty minutes to listen to the last of the Karaoke’rs. That is always good for some laughs.

Tomorrow we dock in Colon, Panama. We are taking an excursion through the rain forest. This will be interesting to be sure. The Cruise Director warned everyone who was not going on an excursion that they should not venture out of the secure area of the port since it would be dangerous. The excursions are protected I guess.

We got an email from Wanda Brown and she tells us that it is supposed to be snowing and icing tomorrow at home. Here it is supposed to be warm and sunny.

Cheers.
